Transition this year will be very different to that of previous years. We know that the opportunity to visit the school, meet Form Tutors, have parental information evenings and ensure key information is shared, is part of the process that helps parents, pupils and staff feel prepared for September. Unfortunately, we are still waiting for Government guidance on whether this is possible for this year and will continue to update our website with further information. So for now, we will be keeping our transition package virtual and hope that the information in the transition section of our website will help parents and pupils feel more informed about Blessed Robert Sutton.
Main transition support – To support your child with transition, we will be completing the following over the next four weeks:
- We will be contacting all pupils via a phone call to discuss how they feel about their move to Blessed Robert Sutton, discuss any concerns and answer any questions.
- Release weekly videos of staff introducing themselves so pupils and parents get to know us, as well as a virtual tour of our school to help pupils get to know the building. CLICK HERE to access the getting to know you page.
- Hold a weekly transition challenge for pupils to get involved with. CLICK HERE to access the weekly challenge page.
Enhanced Transition Support – We will offer an enhanced transition support package for pupils who have special educational needs. This will include the above transition support, as well as a tailored package depending on each child’s need. Please CLICK HERE to access the enhance transition section of the transition page.
Parental Support – In the past, our Parental Information Evening has been a great opportunity for us to share as much information about starting at Blessed Robert Sutton. We are keen to run this session as a virtual meeting and will be holding this meeting during the week beginning 6th July. Nearer the time we will release further information on how to access this.
