Blessed Robert Sutton Catholic Voluntary Academy student wins Gold at The English Schools Swimming Association Games

Blessed Robert Sutton Catholic Voluntary Academy student takes part in The English Schools Swimming Association Games in London.

Megan, 15, who is a member of City of Derby Swimming Club, competed with one other member at the event.

The English Schools Swimming Association Games was held in November, with over one hundred and fifty competitors, from across the United Kingdom competed at the event.

Megan won two Gold medals on the day adding to the vast number of accolades and achievements she has already achieved in the sport.

The 15-year-old stated: “I am delighted with my performance and especially to win Gold in the Team Relay, it means a lot to me and my team” who were representing the West Midlands.

Next year, Megan will enter the Paralympic National Swimming Championship and International Paralympic Swimming Championship in April 2019. She aspires to “achieve the required number of points to qualify and represent Great Britain at the next Paralympics”.

Aidan Smith, headteacher at Blessed Robert Sutton Catholic Voluntary Academy in Burton, congratulated Megan on her amazing achievement.

He said: “Megan clearly put in a lot of training hours and all of her hard work has been rewarded with the gold medals at The English Schools Swimming Association Games. We are absolutely delighted about the progress Megan has made in her Swimming and wish her continued success in the future”.
