Acting Headteacher Update – 30th April

Thank you for continuing to support your children accessing work at home. Children are working really hard at the moment and working really well Firefly.

Year 11 Parents – How is your son/daughter coping with exams being cancelled?

For those young people in Year 11 and Year 13 the following letter written to ‘youngminds’ may be of interest:

Catholic Life – At the beginning of this school year our bishop, Bishop Patrick McKinney, asked schools to help their communities to develop their relationships with God and with each other through the themes of Encounter, Discipleship and Missionary Discipleship, one theme for each term. The theme for this term is Missionary Discipleship. To find out more please read the following letter from our Lead Lay Chaplain – Joe Hopkins.

The NDCYS (Nottingham Diocesan Catholic Youth Service) provides opportunities for young people to discover community, come to a friendship with Christ and a deeper awareness of themselves. Will (our school Chaplain) is part of the team behind NDCYS and on Friday is hosting a big schools get together. It would be great for as many families as possible to join them at 11:00am on Friday the 1st of May. There will be lots of live competition and guests – head to https://ndcys.com/ to find out more.

Finally from me, it has been lovely to hear about so many of you joining in the nationwide applause commending the outstanding work our NHS are doing on the frontline of coronavirus – I hope as many of you will join in as possible – tonight at 8pm – and every Thursday!
