Acting Headteacher Update – 22nd April 2020

Good morning everyone,

As we continue to work from home as part of the schools’ work package, we would like to ask all students to complete the OSA certificate of online safety over the next few weeks.
The OSA Certificate of Online Safety is available at KS3 and KS4 with age-appropriate content including:
• Online bullying
• Grooming including radicalisation
• Sexting and use of personal images
• Live streaming
• Health issues (mental and physical)
• Digital footprint management
• Identifying fake news
• Impact of influencers
• Consequences of poor choices
• Reporting concerns and seeking support
This new version of the certificate includes enhanced levels of interactivity to maximise student engagement and understanding.

The OSA Certificate of Online Safety provides full access to all learning materials required to complete the course, including high quality animated videos, presentations and summary documents.

All assessment is carried out online, with students able to progress at their own pace by taking tests when they feel ready. Once completed students will have a certificate, which they must save and bring into school once we re-open.

The course will take on average 2-3 hours and can be completed in stages either on a smartphone, laptop or PC.

The introductory PowerPoint and student instructions can be found on the following link: OSA PowerPoint

Should you have any questions then please find contact details on the introductory PowerPoint.

Thank you and take care
